BuildingLink's Carbon Footprint

In 2021, BuildingLink set a science-based carbon reduction target of 42% for Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030, approved by SBTi. As part of our commitment to meeting this target by 2030, BuildingLink is implementing key initiatives aimed at enhancing environmental performance and reducing our overall carbon footprint.
These initiatives include procuring renewable electricity for our offices, improving the accuracy of data on natural gas usage and fugitive emissions, and more. Together, these efforts will support our long-term sustainability goals and help us meet our target. From these efforts, BuildingLink has achieved a 10.5% reduction in operational emissions from its baseline year in 2020.
Please read more below to learn about The Science Based Targets initiative.

What is the Science Based Targets Initiative?

The Science Based Targets initiative is a global entity that drives ambitious climate action in the private sector by enabling companies to set science-based emissions reduction targets. It defines and promotes best practices in emissions reductions and net-zero targets in line with climate science and provides technical assistance and expert resources to companies. It includes the guidance, criteria and recommendations companies need to set science-based targets accelerating companies across the world to half emissions before 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions before 2050.
